Meniscal Repair

Catherine Logan

There are many types of meniscal tears – some are more readily reparable than others. Multiple factors are considered with regard to meniscal repair – tear type, tear location (relative to good blood supply), chronicity of the tear, for example. The goal is to repair the meniscus if at all possible.  Of note, in the initial period of rehab following meniscus repair it is necessary for patients to wear a post-operative hinged knee brace and be non-weight bearing.
